Entity CustomVariables

Description of Entity CustomVariables

You can define variables to store values that can affect the queries. In the Report Designer, these variables are stored under the Filter Variables of the Query Folder.

There are 4 types of variables:
- String Variables <S1> to <S5>: These store text values
- Numeric Variables <N1> to <N5>: These store numbers, both integers and real numbers
- Date Variables <D1> to <D2>: These store date values
- Keyword Variables <K1> to <K5>: These values are extracted from the database and are presented as a list during execution

You can use these variables in your queries. You can also define these variables and not use them, however, if you have referenced a custom variable from within the queries, you will need to assign a value else the Report Designer will substitute a zero or blank value accordingly. This means that your queries may be executed successfully but the results are not correct because of the substitution.
