Condition(s) set here must be satisfied before the costing rule is applied. It is common that each cost centre has its own GL codes. Attaching a condition to each rule will let you differentiate between the cost centres.

Example: The basic rate GL code is 30001-212-000 for the Accounts department and 30001-215-000 for the HR department. The cost item is set up with one credit code, but has two debit codes pointing to 30001-212-000 and 30001-215-000.

If you created two debit codes but did not set the conditions, then the same amount will be debited to both GL codes. If you create and attach a department condition, then only one GL code is used (depending on the employee's career progression record).

Shows the identity of the cost condition. It also acts as a primary key for the CostCond table.

Stores the description of the cost condition.

Shows the basis for the cost condition.
Example: Category / Department / Position / Section etc

Shows if the condition is in use or not, in a form of a checkbox.
